WHEREAS, William Penn Collins of Brooklyn Connecticut son of Joshua and Mercy Collins of the town of Richmond CT, County of Washington and state of Rhode Island, and Mary Cassey daughter of James and Margaret Cassey of Aberdeen Scotland, having pledged themselves to each other in the eternal bonds of marriage and holy union, do take this opportunity to make it known unto the world. Now this is to certify to all whom it may concern that for the full accomplishment of their said intentions, this the first day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty, they, the said William Penn Collins and Mary Cassey appeared at the residence of Joseph Watt in the town of North Providence, County of Providence, and state of Rhode Island, and he, the said William Penn Collins taking the said Mary Cassey by the hand, did openly declare as followeth: In the presence of this assembly I take this my friend Mary Cassey to be my wife, promising through Divine assistance to be unto her a faithful and affectionate husband, until death shall separate us. And the said Mary Cassey did then and they are declaring and like manner as follows: In the presence of this assembly I take this my friend William Penn Collins to be my husband, promising through The buying assistance to be unto him a kind and affectionate wife, until death shall separate us. Or words of the like import. And the said William Penn Collins and Mary Cassey as a further confirmation thereof, have hereunto set their hands: she, after the custom of marriage, adopting the name of her husband.
